Peer sponsorship for people in recovery
Looking for a sponsor? Browse volunteer peer sponsors, learn about their recovery experience and approach, and request a connection with someone who may be a good fit.
Sponsor Me is a peer-to-peer recovery platform that helps people find and connect with volunteer peer sponsors online.
Join our growing community of 1 sponsor across AA, NA, SMART Recovery, CMA, and more. Browse them
Whether you're new to recovery, looking for your first sponsor, or trying to find someone whose experience and approach fit you better, Sponsor Me gives you another way to make that connection. It is a peer sponsorship platform - sponsors are volunteers giving back, and you are never buying a sponsor.

BrowseFinding the right person to talk to can be difficult. Sponsor Me gives you a private way to explore potential peer sponsors, understand their approach, and take the first step toward building a real recovery connection.

Request a connection instead of waiting until you happen to meet the right person.
If the sponsor accepts, continue the conversation through Sponsor Me's messaging system.
Sponsor Me helps people connect with volunteer peer sponsors. It is not therapy, medical care, professional counseling, addiction treatment, or emergency services. Sponsorship here is peer support - one person with lived experience talking with another.
A look at the actual screens: browse volunteer peer sponsors, read how someone describes their recovery and their approach, request a connection, and - if they accept - keep talking in one private conversation.
Example sponsor A
7 years in recovery · 3 yrs sponsoring
Accepting SponseesIllustrative profile text. Sponsors describe their own recovery pathway, how often they check messages, and what sponsorship looks like for them - some help sponsees work the Steps in a 12-step fellowship, others offer accountability and lived experience.
Example sponsor B
4 years in recovery · 1 yrs sponsoring
Limited AvailabilityIllustrative profile text. A sponsor using a non-12-step pathway might describe the tools they personally use, how much time they have to give back, and the kind of peer support they feel able to offer.
Filter by fellowship or pathway, availability, location and how someone prefers to communicate. Browsing needs no account and never costs anything.
Example screens built with the real Sponsor Me interface. The people shown are illustrative only - they are not members, are not listed in the directory, cannot be contacted, and are not included in any sponsor count. See the real directory.
Four steps, at your pace. Nothing opens until a sponsor accepts.
Explore available peer sponsors. Browsing is free and needs no account - a first name or username is enough when you do sign up.
Read about their experience, recovery pathway and approach. Some sponsees want help working the Steps in a 12-step fellowship; others want accountability or simply someone who gets it.
Reach out through Sponsor Me with a short note. They can accept or decline - no unwanted messages either way.
If the sponsor accepts, continue the conversation through the platform. Block and Report are in every conversation.
Requests are not guaranteed to be accepted. Sponsors are volunteers, set their own availability, and may decline, pause their profile or not reply - so you may need to reach out to more than one person.

Built from lived experience
Sponsor Me wasn't created because I studied addiction from the outside. I built it because addiction was part of my life for more than 20 years, and I know how important real human connection can be in recovery.

What Sponsor Me actually does - and what it deliberately does not claim to do.
Signing up takes a display name and an email. We never ask for your full legal name, exact home address, employer, sobriety date or medical history, and you choose what goes on your profile.
Every conversation has Block and Report built in. They work on free accounts too - safety tools are never behind a paywall.
Reports go to a moderation queue that a person reads and acts on. Accounts that break the community rules are suspended or removed.
Checkout happens on Stripe's own hosted page, so your full card details are never entered into Sponsor Me or stored in our database. Browsing is free, and sponsors never pay.
Sponsors are volunteers who write their own profiles. Sponsor Me does not background check, identity verify, certify or professionally screen anyone - so read profiles carefully and go at your own pace.
Read the full detail in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, or see the crisis lines on our Resources page.
Browsing profiles never costs anything.
Hi! Im Amanda. I will have 2 years sober in December. I prefer AA for my recovery. I had one relapse in December 2024, and started attending meetings, found my sponsor, and worked the steps. I work with my own sponsor daily, read the Big Book and 12 & 12. I attend 2 meetings in person a week. I work in healthcare, night shift, so my hours available are a little bit crazy for someone who works a 9 to 5. I can talk to just about anyone, and very far from shy!
We never ask for your full legal name, exact address, employer, sobriety date or medical history. Photos are optional and phone numbers are never shown publicly.
Block and report are available in every conversation and never require a membership. Emergency and crisis resources stay free for everyone.
Every member looking for a sponsor gets 20 free sent messages. After that, a plan for unlimited messaging is $1.99 a week, $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year - it renews automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel any time. Sponsors message for free, forever.
This platform is an independent peer-connection service. It is not affiliated with, operated by, approved by, or endorsed by Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Crystal Meth Anonymous, SMART Recovery, or their respective organizations. Sponsors and members are independent users of the platform.
